Piping at day23

Hi, I have a Mumma duck sitting eggs for the 1st time & 2 are piping but it’s only day23,is this normal? This is her 1st time .....She has two & I have 3 in the incubator that don’t go into lockdown until wednesday.....any advice would be appreciated .Thank you

Hi,she’s a Pekin x runner but more Pekin ....

Are the eggs in your incubator on the same day as the ones under mama? Perhaps you set them a few days earlier and didn't remember? Anyways, I would bring the ones under mama into the house and put them in the incubator. You can return the ducklings to her once they hatch. That way you can monitor them more closely than if they were under her. If you have to you can put the incubator eggs into lockdown a day or 2 early, it shouldn't hurt anything. Hopefully everything will be alright. .

Personally I would just leave them with Momma and wait to see what happens?...

Welcome to BYC! I've had eggs under broodies hatch several days early, so I would say that it's normal and that you shouldn't worry. Hope you have a a fantastic hatch.

Depends...I would of just gave her all the eggs...
