Congrats!!!!!
Just a quick note: If you ever do have to open the bator at lock down, I take the bator into a HOT bathroom! I crank the HOT shower and let the room fill with steam. I place a small room heater in the bathroom set at 100 or High. When the room fills with steam I will shut off the shower but keep the heater on at 100 or High! I then take the bator into the bathroom and open it. I can remove chicks, shells, and fill water cavity. There will be plenty of humidity left with out the shower running constantly! Just remember to cover any vents or A/C vents!!! You do not want water to condense on the shells! If the shells become covered in condensation the chicks can suffocate! That is why you do NOT want to keep the shower running. I have done this many times with staggered hatches. I have NEVER lost one to shrink wrap!
Yes!, I know you are not supposed to open the bator after lockdown! This is just a safer way to do it, if you have too! It has worked for me Many times without negative effects!
I will wait until the chick if fully dry or fluffed out before removing them from the bator. You can leave chicks in the bator for 3 days with out any food or water. I personally only allow 24-48. They have just absorbed the yolk and have all of the moisture and nutrients they need for 3 days!
Congrats again and God Bless!
P.s. When I come out of the bathroom with the bator, I look like I was in the shower! LOL it is extremely HOT and HUMID!!!!! Becareful not to over heat yourself!
