Pippin's Random Ramblings!!! 🐣😜

I judge them. I had one lock onto my dog as we were going for a walk. Another had its home buddy pinned down for hours, while everyone desperately tried to get it to detach without killing anyone else. It had previously killed a neighbors small dog. Another friend was unable to manage hers and it killed someones dog as they were walking by.. and I don't know that many people with pits. Unfortunately, there has been so much bad breeding, the dog is no longer stable. PEOPLE (not the dog itself) ruined the breed.
Eyyy....pits are mixes. Not even a breed.
These days, anything from lab mixes to a random mutt can be classified as a "pit mix" despite not having a bit of Staffy/bulldog blood in them.

There are so many dogs out there with issues...I know, I own one.
But he's ten pounds.
And he's not lethal.

The problem isn't the "breed" it is the people who raise them badly and do not train them to be in control of their powerful bodies.

The most agressive dog I've ever met was a Yorkie, and the sweetest one I've ever met was a stranger's adorable red pittie named Maya.
Every dog is different...we have more reason to be scared of big dogs than little ones. But dogs are not made killer by the length of their snout, the width of their flank, or whatever it is people use to classify mutts as "pits" these days.

Agreed!
The reason there are more reports of pittie bites is because when they do bite, it hurts. But no one would report a chiwawa bite (which happens more often) because it's small

Exactly.
I actually wrote a paper on this for school a year or so ago. I collected all sorts of data.
There is actually a larger percentage of SMALL pet dogs with behavioral issues than there is big pet dogs with major behavioral issues in the US.
But is a little dog escapes its yard and goes after a kid, not much happens. Yap yap yap, "Mommy! Fluffy is chasing me againnnn!"
If a big dog goes after a kid...the kid gets stitches and people all across the country threaten to shoot the dog.

Pit bulls and other large dogs cause more damage because they are so powerful.
The owner's job is to train them NOT to.
