Pit bull and chickens

I have jug Jack russel/pug and he just loves my chickens. One day the roofer was over at our house and the dog was out sitting next to the cage. When the guy came to close and he started to growl and bark at the guy. I had to hold him back.

I think your chicks are much safer romping around your dog than being boxed up. He does look like he is smiling.

i can't Let my chickens romp around because i live kinda in the city. but i let the out in the yard when i am there.

My pit, who has sadly passed, never bothered the chickens either. He was a great dog.

This is exactly what we needed to read. Question, we have taken our granddaughter’s neutered 1.5 yr. old Blue Pit while she is participating in a long-term rehab program. He is wonderful with us, our grandson, and great grand
son. I am not sure how he is with other dogs as we had him and our old guy before we had him put down due to illness and old age. he was not aggressive with him so, I should get to my question: how do you think he would do with chicks? Is he too old to introduce them or, based on what we know about him, do you think this might work?
