This is a thread about the wonderful,loving pitbull. We can talk,post pictures,stories,questions and anything good about pitbulls. NO negative illegal posts of any use with pitbulls.Pitbulls are great,loving,gentle,good with kids,intelligent,trusting,beautiful dogs that ARE NOT mean or vicious they are just raised that way by bad and scumbag owners,again they are only trained to be aggressive and bite they are born wonderful nice regular dogs so DON'T judge the pitbull and think they are aggressive because they are the total opposite there kind and loving so don't judge before you don't no them....have fun and post them pitty's

And I thank all of you that love and understand the pitbull and don't give them a bad rap!

In my next two dogs I am probably getting a pitt. It's a ways off since we live in the suburbs and have two dogs as it is. But it's gonna happen!

I wonder, does anyone on here have experience training their pitts as farm dogs? I know they are very multi-use dogs but let us be honest here. The pitt comes from a terrier (small animal aggressive) and a bulldog (bull baiting/large animal aggressive), and I wonder how much that's still prevalant in the modern pitt. I'd love to have a pit bull multi-purpose farm dog. Walk with me as I check the pens, guard the livestock from wildlife and strangers, maybe even help participate in herding. A dog that's gonna eat the livestock can't do these things.

Anyone try to train their pit as a working farm dog, and how did it go?

I don't have a pit

but if you get a young one and introduce him/her with your livestock while it's calm and not all hyper at t time so it doesn't grab one out of excitement I'm sure a puppy or even an adult would be ok as long as you supervised it would become an awesome farm dog...glad you love pitbulls too
