We used to have a suspected coydog when I was a toddler. She had one ear up and one down, but the down ear had been damaged badly as a pup so that could easily have been why it was down

What age do pups get their upright ears typically?

She looks a lot like a couple of my dogs when they were pups! I will have to see if I can find some pics. The mom was a neighborhood dog that just roamed all over. Never knew if she had a home or grew up in the wild she would never let no one touch her but we use to swear she was part coyote. In fact we named her yoty. The dad is now 12 1/2 (Tank) part bull mastiff and German shepherd. And I still own 3 of their pups together

Very. I love them. I had to rehome my last one 2 years ago, who was excellent, but I couldn’t keep her home and she was leading my entire pack off and causing problems for the local hunters. My farm is 40 acres in the middle of the woods. I have no close neighbors. The surrounding properties are timber lands leased for deer hunting. At some point I want to fence my entire perimeter. But until I do, I have to trust the dogs not to delve too deep in the woods away from home. My old coon hound was pretty good about not traveling more than a quarter mile most of time. My last Catahoula would dive all the way in and come out on the homesteads far away while running deer. Which made her unpopular with hunters.

What do you want to know about them?
This might be a long shot but I have a dog who is a boxer mix. Mom is boxer but they don’t know who dad is. The vet mentioned maybe Catahoula because of the way she looks. I’ll attach some photos!

She tried to bite you? Or just jumping? If biting, you still got her puppy after that? Lol
She savaged my hip. She just couldn’t break through my jeans.

Its not the sort of thing that puts me off of a dog. I expect a mother to attack a strange human that is messing with her pups. Neither myself nor the owner thought anything of me picking up the pup. Didn’t cross our minds, but after it happened he was embarrassed and I felt like “well duh, what was I thinking snatching up her puppy where she doesn’t know me?”

I’m very circumspect of a bulldog’s genetic bloodlust and any behavior that tells me a particular bulldog I’m evaluating would be better suited as a blood and guts catch dog instead of a family dog. But I figure any normal dog may attack a stranger messing with her pups. It doesn’t mean the dog is dangerous otherwise. There’s a lot of hormones flushing through the dog during those weeks of motherhood.

I’d put my money on the LGD daddy.
I’ve never had them, but I’m guessing they are recessive white. Basically very light colored pheomelanin and needs 2 copies to show. When outcrossed you get things like that wild type agouti. How are the dewclaws? Floppy like Pyrenees?

A family pet shouldn’t be aggressive like that

Ah, good points.

I do not know about the dewclaws. I didn’t check them or pay them mind. I’ll check when I get home.
