Nothing today. I'm sure it will happen this weekend when I'll be gone. That is what happened last year.

We have a little egg!

I got home late with some overgrown cucs for the chickens and I noticed one of the golf balls on the floor in the coop. When I opened the nest box door someone had been in all three nest boxes and pushed around all the pine shaving. Looked like she was testing all to see what one she liked best.

And there it was in all its glory. I forgot how cute the first eggs are.

It was the Leghorn. I put her egg next to my other leghorn's egg who is a year older.

I was pretty sure it was going to be the leghorn with her combs and wattles so big and red. That why I asked for #2 pullet. I can't wait to see who lays next.

Congrats to all who picked the Leghorn. We bow to your chicken wisdom.
