(Bear with me: I'm not new to chickens, but I AM new to chicken shipping ordeals, lol.)
After 5 wonderful years with my first ever chicken babies, I think it's time to add to my tiny backyard flock.
I've only ordered chicks once before, in March, and they were all popular breeds that were all available. It was a fairly straightforward process. This time it's a bit different. (Used mypetchicken.com, will be using it again)
Naturally (considering the season), the majority of availability is "sold out" on all the chickies I want.
So approximately when can I order these guys? I'm receiving this message in my cart: Unfortunately, we can't find a common ship date for the chicks you've selected. Please select breeds with an available ship date in common.
Well, I don't want to pick different ones! I'm still given the option to "Proceed," presumably to check out (it's been five years, I've totally forgotten how the site works by now xD). Does this mean I can go ahead and pay for/reserve my pick now, and simply be unable to pick a date for shipment? Like, will a notification be sent as soon as the earliest shipment is available? Or do I need to wait to place my order until at least Very Limited Availability pops up again instead of Sold Out?
I would LOVE some help from anyone who understands the ways of MPC ordering processes!
Also, the unavailable breeds have "Sold Out" on the calendars all the way through Sept 9, under which it states, "TBD". What exactly does that mean?
Anyway, I'm in no rush, Spring 2014 chickens would work just as well as fall chicks for me, I just want to know if Sept/Oct shipments might be a possibility.
