Placing Emu Chicks on Auction Board

I book marked the page. I wonder how you find a "processor" for emus.

Currently you don't. The web site said farm to finish...

I don't process my own chickens, too squeamish for that. This emu site has me a thinkin'. What kind of call is there for emus? I mean outside of a "fad" or a 'look what I got in my yard" kind of thing - novelty of owning one situation?

Must do a little reading. They are adorable, for sure. And I've been impressed with them since I lived near a place in NC that had them. I don't think they had that much acreage though. At least it never looked like they did. I didn't ever pay the "petting fee" and check it out close up.

Mostly just for fun. However, I have a mare that objects when it comes to feeding time. She has kicked a couple of them to death and we did process those. My finance made jerky out of them and it was pretty good if you like that sort of thing. (He does, not me so much.) We have not, however, cooked one on the grill. They don't have much breast, but the legs look like a deer ham when butchered.

I'll bet emu jerky is tasty! And very lean, like venison.
