Plank Challenge anyone????

Day 13.5

Plank challenge replaced today w/ 2, 500 lb pts, 4 350 lb pts, and active cpr on another.
Hmmm, didn't know that substitutions were allowed...but closest I would come to that would have been from the other day trying to haul 3 calves (by their brand new halters) from the trailer 300 yards to the pen in the back yard weighing in between 325 and 400lbs. The weight doesn't slide - it is counterbalance to the fulcrum provided by 8 peg like toes stuck into the ground. Didn't wear gloves for the first two and my hands still hurt from the rope.
However, that day has come and gone and I think I actually did the challenge that night. Will have to keep this in mind though! No such replacement exercise to make up for last night.
Have you noticed a rise in patient weight over the years?

Had to go back to the l1 on the side plank tonight, balance was horrible, to tired.

@bardies ended up w/ a good shift, long and tiring w/ lots of way oversized pts (between 300-500+ lbs) but mixed in w/ all those we had a code save.

Excellent to hear about that! I imagine that you get enough losses, and enough - they are in hospital now so have no idea's, that to get that positive reinforcement of a save is pretty huge! (not to mention a pretty big deal to the patient)
I am wondering too, if the larger sizes also contribute to the poorer health - and therefore - more rescue calls.

You know, not doing anything different - but I have a lot less lower back pain nowadays. Like I said, except for the plank stuff, nothing different...
