I will definately be showing at Morganton, NC and Winston-Salem,NC this year. Noel and one of the twins, both standard Black Cochins, are coming along faster then expected with their molts. Big Jerry hasn't even started, so he won't be ready until the spring shows.

I think that is all that will be ready for show. I might be able to take a couple dutch bantams to show. The best are "Amber", cream light brown, and "Cream", Blue cream light brown. Amber has a fear of cages since I rescued her from a caged life and let her know what freeranging is. Cream has never seen the inside of cage, so she would take some work with the cage training.

Ever since my Splash Silkie hen got stolen from a show I no longer show my birds. So not worth it.

If everyone stopped showing because of one of their birds being stolen, there would be no fancy at all. I have had birds stolen by FRIENDS at shows. I never got the birds back...I didn't know where they lived and I didn't know where they had the birds at. They never showed again or met at the meets.

I know it's really frustrating and heartbreaking losing a bird. You can always use it to increase your knowledge about what happens and teach others what to look for.

Yes, I will be showing this year!

Several places that I've never been to or even thought about going to before!

She was more than just a chicken to me. I was very bonded to her and cried for weeks, mourned for moths. And oh, the anger and stress! Sorry, but I am done. So not worth that again. I just couldn't go through that again. And the kicker is, I know who took her! But the police just turned the other cheek. They simply don't care.

Hun, I know you're upset, but you could at least go to warn other breeders and newbies. You don't have to show at all. Even volunteering to keep security would be a good thing.

Buck Creek, take a chair to sit in and watch the fun. Leave someone with your stuff and by your cages at all times. You can't sit in the aisle, but you can sit in the opening at the end of the aisle. Sit there...you can also put locks or even zip ties on the cage doors. When the judge gets to the aisle before yours, cut the zip tie so that he can get to the bird easily. Just be sure to watch at all times.
