Plans or changes you wil make for 2014?

Today I did some digging around the hole looking for evidence. I found what I was looking for...I found 1 piece of fur. I would say it is about an inch long and a little more than half of it is white and the rest of it is black. I will look through our furs in the house for comparision...I just looked at some of the furs...It does look similar to raccoon...I am waiting for my dad to come back after his deer hunting trip. Once he gets home today I will have him look at it.

Okay well I think the final guess here is opossum. The raccoons always find a way to climb into the pen not dig in. The hair was too thin to be a raccoon. It definitely is not a skunk hair. I am not too worried about a opossum, yet I am sooo ready to put up a hot wire...
Tomorrow is my last final exam for this semester, and that is in Biology. After that I will be free to do all the wonderful peafowl things I want to do!

That sounds like a coon

I've been contemplating a better place to raise my newly hatched peas and after a few days to consider the numbers, space requirements, and possible heat I think I have a solution,,more building of course and info to follow.

Today we bought a bag of rye grass and I scattered the seeds out all over the pen. Then after that I raked them. There is a rain coming soon so hopefully soon I will have a pen full of grass. The birds were a little afraid of all of the seeds. The seeds made the pen floor all tan colored and they were afraid to stand in areas with a lot of seeds.

I saw Alto peck at the seeds but there are so many of them I doubt they will eat them all up before they can grow.
