Plant burned to the ground UPDATE AND ITS GOOD

Thanks everyone for the words of encourgment and yes it was the tire plant in bowdon that burned. We needed that income. I'm not so worried for myself. I'm worried about my animals. I'm feeding over 200 now and I don't know where the money will come from. My oldman, everyone calls him snakeman for ovious reasons is 59 years old so the job market isn't that great for him. They are rebuilding the plant, but how long will that take?

As far as me this makes me angry. A stranger attacking me and hurting me has left me disabled for life. The man that attacked me three years ago had MURDERED two people previousy in his life and he was walking free to attack again because he had mental illness. I fought him and I'm very luck to be alive. At the time I had a good job paying good money and all was taken away in a instance so no I will not be getting better. It seems that I am gettin bitter and I know I don't need to go there.

I am already doing some ideas you guys posted and I'm looking for that next door to open and usually when there is a wolf at my door I make a pet out of it. lol{no really}

It's really going to hurt me as far as all my doctors appt. and meds.
I have no insurance

Last monday we installed a wood burning heater, at least we will have heat. Thanks again guys!

Oh No! Was it Carlisle? I am so sorry, I was hoping and praying they would take care of the employees.

I will be praying for you and your husband that you can get through this.

So sorry to hear about the plant. Now is the time to dust yourselves off and start a plan of attack. I would immediatly get in touch with the social service agencies and unemployment dept. As someone else has mentioned, check into food banks etc. You may not need it today but it would be good to have a list of agencies that you can contact. The biggest error people make is sitting around hoping something will fall in their laps.(not saying in any way that you are doing this) getting pro-active will help you feel a sence of control in a situation that you did not choose for yourself.

Check with the local feed store and see if there are assistance agencies for feeding animals. Perhaps you could get a few fostor homes lined up. In emergency situations, your husband and you are first to eat. If you don't stay healthy, your animals won't anyway. I would scale way back. I know that is hard because we would all starve to feed our pets but in reality, they are animals. You can always get more later. Keep the ones that feed you. Get rid of everyone else or fostor them out.

Hillbillyhousewife.com has some great ideas for saving money. With no money coming in right now, you want to sqeeze every bit out of every penny. Turn off the extras like cable and internet. You can use the Library internet. You can always turn them back on later.

If I were your hubby I would start hitting the pavement for a job. Any job, even if it is flipping burgers. Any job in honerable. This time of year many retailers are hireing extra folks. Put ads on Criaglist or your local free paper for anything you don't need. Sell what you can. We all usually have extra stuff taking up space.

Hope this is helpful. Remember that here are people that can support and encourage you. Humans are built to survive! Do not be afraid to ask for help.

Prayers going out to you and your hubby.

We will see what they will do/ Didn't sound good at company meeting today. I'm sending you message tonight bout Dickie-read Sadies thread today, good news. Gathering firewood now or I should be. I'm stalling-its cold out there

I am sorry to hear about your situation. Hopefully the person that attacked you was caught and put back into custody. Does your state have a Victims Assistance Fund? If not, try contacting your state representative about getting something passed. Also if you are totally disabled, have you checked into getting SSI Disability?

It may take a while to process but if it is approved then they usually back date the disability to the date that it was filed. And if it is denied then make sure you file an appeal in time, sometimes it may take a couple of rounds to get it approved. Other people have suggested other viable alternatives already, but know that their are people out here that care for you.

Contact any and all creditors and see about making payment arrangements with them. Concentrate on keeping the Mortage if you have one, and the utilities on, as to the rest, even if you send them $5.00 a month, that shows them that you are trying to pay and they can't do much to you.

Wishing you all the best

Robin threw Dickie out of the house.... LOL he is in the barn in a pen with a heat lamp.
Let me know if I can help, we are financially tight but I will do what I can
I know a lot of people in this area, maybe we could find hubby another job, temporarily.

Wow, I can only send you great thoughts and hope. Perhaps a news paper article would help you out with donations and stuff. Such a difficult time in our lives, let alone have to deal with all that. You are in our thoughts and when you get frustrated, go sit with your friends, online or in your back yard
