Great news: Carlisle is going to continue to pay there employees 40 hours each week for a few more weeks. After that they will deal with it on a week to week basis. They are already clearing to rebuild and it is looking like my old mans dept. will be one of the first depts, to be called back to work. Machinery is supposed to be on its way and I'm thinking they will set up shop in a temperary place {don't quote me on that}. They are taking the attitude that it will be better to take care of there trained employees now instead of losing everyone to other jobs and then trying to train new folks later. wow, is this not great!!!!!! This will at least give me time to set some things up and make arrangments in case things get bad. They are also offering all kinds of deals on getting food and have arranged several meals with local churches. We do have the food banks here and also a service called Hearts and they will help you pay two utility bills a year. I feel much better having time to plan than finding out "boom" no more paycheck.
I had actually thought I would sell some of my chickens because I didn't think I would be able to feed them. So today we got video of myself in my huge juvenile coop and I tell you I don't know how I would pick who to sell. All these birds I hatched and are tame and they all wanted time with there mom. They would jump on my lap or my shoulder, rub against my leg to get my attension, stop and stand in front of me until they got petted. Anything they could do to get noticed. I had the best time today making that video and the whole time I'm thinking I want have all of them much longer. Life is great and I'm a very happy camper right now.
I had the NPIP test done yesterday and the man performing the test was amazed at how tame my juviniles were and of course they put on a show for him justl ike it was rehearsed. lol Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. I can always count on my buddies at BYC.
