I was waiting for rain to alleviate the really super dry soil we had, then we get a deluge, and I'm waiting for it to dry up a bit......round and round we go.....

I bought some seedlings today - - - Romain and broccoli. I figure even if something sprouted tomorrow, it will still take it a month to catch up with the seedlings. . . I don't like to get my plants started this late . .. .

Two years ago we had a freeze in October. Last year, we had wonderful fall temperatures until sometime in December. Who knows what mother nature will throw at me this year. So far, I have spent $14 on plants for the fall. . . .

I have a ton of seeds, so I will reseed in a week if I don't see any new sproutings by next weekend

My strawberries keep sending off runners. I keep cutting / pinching them off. I want to get fruit, not new little plants . . . .

I went and looked at seedlings yesterday lol. I couldn't get motivated enough to buy any after my horrible garden this summer. Only had great luck with the peppers and okra this year. Tomatoes were horrible. I usually start all my warm season crops (except okra and corna) in the little greenhouses with peat pods. If you set them on something warm like a water heater or the top of the fridge you will get much faster germination. I use a plant heat mat and have grow lights in a shelf thingy since I usually start so much stuff from seed and cuttings (mostly decorative flowers etc.)

Yep... i finally decided to go pick up a few seedlings since everything has gone so poorly. Today we're going to go pick up red cabbage I think. I'm quite tired of this!

I planted lettuce, radicchio, Mesculin mix, Bok Choy, and Broccoli. I planted it all in the greenhouse yesterday. I bought the plants already started.

I got some beets to start - - - but nothing else has started from seed.

I am going to try another planting later today. I will replant in the garden and replant in the jiffy pots.

The seedlings I bought a couple of weeks ago are starting to look like they are finally adjusting.

Funny you should ask! I did my raised bed prep a few days ago and am getting the lettuces, arugula, and spring onions in the ground this afternoon, as a matter of fact. Weatherman says it's going to be chilly today but sunny. That's good enough for me. The beds are all happy and ready for seeds, full of yummy compost that we made ourselves and rich, dark soil, full of last summer's chicken poo and grass clippings, all ready to plant!
