I have so many pots of all sizes, and was thinking the other day "what can I use this flattish pot for?" It's too shallow to stay wet enough for flowering plants in our desert environment, so I've decided to use plastic pots for my nesting boxes. They'll be so easy to remove and clean!

There's a picture of a shallow one at this website: http://www.plantcontainers.com/b2-035.php

I
also have a deeper square one that I'm going to try.

Now I'm wondering if a small hanging pot, hung just at head height, might suffice for a feeder?

It probably would. You would need a cover for the feeder or they will get up there and poo.

yeah, I thought about that in the middle of the night.

I may end up using a square box planter for a nesting box with a slanted lid over it, and use this big flat planter for a dust-box.
