Plants for around duck pool

Hey all, I’m in the uk, nice soggy winter for us. My beautiful green lawn is just a slip slide of mud This year is my first year owning ducks and now 2 chickens also recently added to our family.
I use a kiddie pool for the ducks to play in, the plan is to put a drain on it and sink it a little into the ground.I want to plant some stuff around it, do you have any suggestions of good hardy plants? The area can be sectioned from the ducks until it is established.

They don’t seem to be very fond of herbs so maybe mint?

With ducks I would look up more sodding plants (especially grasses) that grow well in not only your climate, but don't mind more wet areas. My ducks will pull up plants like little maniacs when the ground is wet, but the sod grasses they have never been able to destroy.
