Oh look what I found!!!Unless you have a vast area to work with, your chickens are likely to destroy every bit of greenery available.
My suggestion would be to divide the area so that you can rotate them through multiple pens in order to let each one recover before it gets chomped on again.

A LOT of seed is grown here in the Willamette Valley and if I were a hen...my beak would be watering at this!
