Plastic Codes Question

What Code Number is the best/safest type of plastic to use for a feed or water container. What would have the least 'leaching'? Codes are 1-7...

I feel if I can drink from plastic water bottles, soda bottles, iced tea from deli take out & the roach coaches in Philly so can the chickens.

Yes. Maybe once or twice. But reuse of certain plastics causes them to break down. This breakdown can leach into the water thus into your chickens.
My concern is a container used as a nipple waterer. Being used over and over again...
