Plastic Pallet Idea..input please!!!!

This morning I was thinking on what to do with plastic pallets.I can get them frees-ville where I get my pallets.

Anyways was figgerin,that since my coop is 8'x 8' and the plastic pallet is 4'x4' then I need 4 of em buggers to have a plastic pallet floor.I can go in and rinse it since its plastic,and grow grass or chicken veggies thru it.

any comments,concerns,or any jibber jabber will be appreciated.

Plastic pallets would be an awesome thing to recycle into a coop. But yes, pics please!

Oh, good Lord, If I knew someone giving away plastic pallets I'd take all I could get. You can use them for all kinds of things.

I am building a coop right now, and had been gethering wood pallets to do this until 2 days ago when I pulled up to where i get pallets, to my behold there were 2 stacks of black plastic ones! I had never seen plastic ones! They were sweet!! I stacked 5 inside my scion XB. Going to get more today. They are 48" by 40" like a standard pallet. I just put the 4x4 posts in the ground, and nailed in some cross members yesterday(my land is on a slope so the coop will be on short legs to make it level.) today hopefully I get the 4x4 posts cut off level and can lay the floor down. The floor will be 4 pallets (96" by 80") and then the walls will be the same, giving me a 8' by 6' 8" coop. I will def use the plastic ones I have for the floor and if it seems like it will be easier than using wood, I will make the walls and roof from them too if i can get enough. Hopefully today I can get 4 or 5 on top of my car on way to get kids from school, and then later make another run and stick 5 inside the car and another 4 or 5 on top. I am building my coop from all materials I have gotten free from either work, craigslist, or freecycle, or the local stores where I grab pallets. Only thing I have bought so far is two 1lb boxes of nails, one 2lb box of screws, and two 50lb bags of quikcrete for the posts. My current coop is only 2.5' by 3' and like 4' tall. Just enough room for my 2 red sex link hens and 1 EE roo. But I have 16 chicks in the house that I plan to keep 7 or 8 of depending on how many pullets. so I need a coop to house 12 sice 2 that I am keeping are Jersey Giants

I've never seen plastic pallets!! I must have a picture!! ANYone!?!??! I bet that would be fabulous to work with! This is the angle that a lot of those "plastic coop" makers are going after-- because the red mites don't have an easy place to dig in and they are easy to wash off. Loving this idea!
