I always take my radio out and turn it on when my girls are free ranging.

My thought was it may scare off any preditors w/the noise. I don't feel so bad if I have to going in for a minute or two. So far, so good!
What do you think?
Plus i've been told it helps when we go to the fair with all of THAT noise too. So, they'll get use to it. the fair gets loud.

If nothing else, predators won't know when you aren't home if you keep the radio going. Music soothing the savage beast?? Not so sure about that but I tell it helped calm down the whole flock when integrating some new ducks into the family. Just know that if you use Barry White or Marvin Gaye, flock expansion will happen.

I read on here that someone leaves one on and tuned to talk radio. I know Rush Limbaugh's voice 24/7 would keep me away!

well, we seem to play rock n roll. but the other day Ozzie, heavy metal, was on....at first the birds looked like what the heck is that.....and i nodded, yup it's Ozzie! My son loved it tho., does that count?

We only turn it on when we're outside w/them. I would NEVER leave my house wo/putting them back into their run, I'M to afraid of something happening to them.

I learned the hard way years ago it does not work at night.
I always had a radio on in my coop (mainly for me) 24/7 and I had a coon rip the hardward cloth off a vent and get in.
