It has been seven days today and she is still not walking. Treated her for mites today and gave her electrolites not sure whats next. She is eating rice, grapes ,pellets and veggies so she is not weak in that department. In ten years I have never had this happen.Help:(

Hi, do you have any ideas as to what may have happened, injury, eaten moldy food, mites can cause anemia, are you feeding her extra food to help build her back up? Maybe try scrambled eggs and or yogurt to help build her immune system back up. and I am sorry my manners left me....

Hi, try to supply more info on the hen. How old, other chickens, new chickens?. Acting sick? Enough calcium?
Go to the top of this category, and the first post has all the questions you should answer to give a better idea of what's going on.

Well she is a two year old Cochin and she lives with 6 hens the seventh is in a screened in pen at night because the others pick on her . This Cochin is the largest of my hens. I have 4 ducks 2 Pekins, 2 Muscovies. Live in NH so winter has started to make the birds stir crazy. In addition to their coop they have an outside covered run about 3 ft wide 9 ft long. I know the ducks are starting to get to the hens. A week ago she just started hanging in the coop and one day didn't walk. I brought her in that night becuase birds always pick on the ones who can't defend themselves. The birds food is dry, water clean everyday and our coop is insulated warm . I discovered mites/fleas the other day when I was soaking her in warm water to clean her up so I have dusted her.
She is wide awake totally clear no other problems but she can't stand. Everyday I hold her up for her to stretch her legs I just don't get it. Maybe she has a master plan and wanted to come in the warm and cozy house, eat good food and get baths! She is really sweet and I am just hoping she will come out of it. My other thought was one of the Pekins tried to mount her and they are heavy birds.
