I thought you have both kinds. Do the pullets have salmon breast?
Brown is usually the word for e^b based and light brown for e+.
Dark brown then sounds like the former.

I think the 'dark' browns are eb with Mh.

US Light Brown Leghorns (Pullet breeders in the UK) are e+/e+ s+/s+ & possibly Di/Di
US Dark Brown Leghorns (Cockerel breeders in the UK) are eb/eb s+/s+ Mh/Mh & recessive melanisers.
