yes.. funny you say that.. the first vet , who is one of 125 certified Avain vets.. his office, i believe, caused all the problems..i actually think they broke my cayuga 's leg.. but i have been at a hospital now about an hour from me which has nothing but all certified avian and exotic specialists. They are the ones who actually gave my sweet Shiloh a fighting chance.I am so sorry about the loss of your ducks. It is always hard to lose one. Everyone has given you great advice on your potential new ducks. I hope she will be happy soon.
I also wanted to suggest you may want to think about if you have the right vet for you. There a lot of vets who will say they treat birds, but are not avian vets. Your 3 bad experiences just put up flags for me. It is just something to think about. If you trust your vet, then that is great. You always want one that you trust.
My poor pekin was at another hospital who i think messed up her surgery.
I am very fortunate to live near NYC and north jersey where we a have good avian and exotics vets. But the beleive me .. i hear you.. honestly.. we bought this house two years ago.. i was ready to sell bc i was starting to feel like it was cursed!! My husband has of course calmed me down about that ( kinda.., lol) Butyes.. i totally hear you
