Please Advise!!!!

I honestly don't know but I would call a Feedstore, Avian vets office or pet store place....let me google and see what shows up....

Lots of sites showed up to order it from Lurky....

Looks like there is a infection sometimes in the head. Looks like puss coming out of the top of the eyes, could be sinus like the above post. It is very close to the brain, could be why they are dying. Try and get some antibiotics to put into the water or consult a vet. Doesn't look good.

Could it possibly be eye worms? Looks close to what my chickens had a while back and I treated it as eye worms. I know lots of people are not fans of "vet rx" but I always use this. I just hold the chicken and put 2-3 drops in each eye then "squeeze" around the eye area...clean any excretions and then let them rest. I usually try to treat at least twice. Usually one day after the other and it clears up within a few days. I may be wrong but it is worth a try before losing anymore.

By heavy artillery, I meant something much stronger than Terramycin. I'm sorry, I wouldn't feel qualified to diagnose or tell you how to treat that. It would be helpful to know what they have because some diseases make them carriers for life, if they survive them.

Kristina, Vet Rx isn't made to go into the eye directly. The directions have you to put it back into the cleft at the top of the mouth near the sinuses. Then it comes out the beak and the helps drain the pus from the eye, which you then clean out. We had a humongous to-do about that awhile back, don't know if you remember.

I don't know if this is eyeworm; I can't diagnose what it is because I have no experience with it. As I said, it could be several things.

Could be lots of things..many diseases present this way. I am thinking CRD, Corzya, MS or MG, but could really be anything. Without a proper diagnosis from a vet, you are playing craps with meds..and terrymycin (sp?) isn't worth the room it takes on the shelf, so definitely get something stronger. I highly recommend getting a necropsy on one and really figuring out what they're dealing with. That may mean starting over, but at least they'll know and possibly treat the others properly.

I am linking a dosage chart that discusses some of these diseases along with recommended meds and dosage. I hear great things about LS50 and that is listed for CRD, so worth a try. Gallymycin I have heard is a good med as well.

I do agree, unless they call in an ag vet or have a necropsy done on one, we are all just guessing on what it "could" be when you ask for help here.......lots of different respiratory infections for poultry to get....

I realize that it is a guess....but unless one dies to have tested, they need to try anything they can. Nobody is going to point fingers if a sugestion does not work. My friend just wants to make an effort to save her son's flock. If this is a fixable ailment, we just want to find out what things to try to troubleshoot with. I thank everyone for the input.......it is very much appreciated

The foamy eyes are typical of Crd. baytril, tylan, gallimycin, lincomycin and spectinomycin are all effective in suppressing bacterial infections such as CRD or Coryza, I would go the injection route, That way there is no ifs ands buts about it. As sick birds especially in this cooler weather wont consume enough medicated water to be effective
I agree with hincjc, I find terramycin useless as well.
And to Kristina, Granted, VetRx may not be made to go into the eye..But what you said is a very effective method for eye worms, Jeffers reccomends this. And with phone conversations with Dwight Schwartz, He did also

Just an update for anyone who helped me on this one.....I was able to pickup some sulmet the next day for my friends chickens. She lost 3 before we could help them. The sulmet seems to have things under control. There were at least 4 others with symptoms and they are cleared up now. We ordered tylan powder.....but it just came in today. So its on deck for backup....but i hope its not needed.

FYI to anyone interested....Tylan injectible comes in Tylan 200 and Tylan 50..and the soluble powder.
usually available farm/feed/livestock suppliers..in the livestock section, NOT the poultry section..
or online from livestock suppliers such as jeffers.
or foyspigeonsupplies.:
