I have five turkeys in a terrarium staring at me right now in my house lol And before them he had two chicks that the hen tried to kill.
I think it's fine, just clean, clean, clean, clean! They do eat the flies that showed up though lol I put new shavings in if I notice the odor, or every three days, depending on what happens first. Keeps the smell down just fine. I put my turkeys out during the day in a tractor, they are little still. I have noticed raising them inside, the ones that were in here are all super friendly to people, makes it really easy to pick them up and clean them, check for disease etc. And the rooster that was in here doesn't attack us, the cat, dog, etc. Plus it trained my dog, and the cats that they are part of the "family" and not to attack them. It has worked well.
My turkeys are very interested in this tapping noise too, lol they are a riot.
