PLEASE can you help me,I'm worried.

It's just a flesh wound. Coturnix only need one good eye to see how to eat.

One good eye, one good leg....Keeper!

he was probably being too enthusiastic in the breeding department and she just got tired of his behavior ..
if he was in with only 1 hen i add a few more -2or3-hens or keep them separate.

This happened with one of my females only she managed to kill a really strong and nasty male. I placed her by herself and about a month later I found her dead overnight and when I did a necropsy I found that she had an enlarged heart which may have been why she just wasn't right in the head. Illness could may cause them to be irritable and cranky. (like me

Some coturnix hens just don't get along with anyone. Here are a few suggestions that you can try. No guarantees on any of them but the last one.

Put her in a different pen with a different male. She just may have taken a dislike to the first male.

Put her in a different pen by herself for a bit. She just may have wanted some alone time.

Put her in a different pen with something to beat up like a CD or a bundle of hay. She just may be cranky and need something to focus her anger on.

Put her in the freezer. It has been my experience that if a coturnix hen decides to beat up the male, she will beat up any other bird that gets in her way.

Good luck with it. He should be fine after awhile. He hath been officially hen pecked and it will take a bit to get over it.
