PLEASE change Photobucket accounts to "PRIVATE"

If you choose to have a public Photobucket account, any of your content with tags, titles or descriptions added in the main album or any public sub albums will appear in the public 'search' function. This search displays random images and videos from public albums. People will also be able to view your account if they enter your username into the search feature. They will see the 'read only' version, and will not be able to edit, upload, or delete any of the contents of your account. They will have access to the 'buy prints' and Make Mobile features as well.

If you choose to have a private Photobucket account, your content will only be available to those whom you choose to give access to and you will control the password. If the account level status is set to private, you will not be able to set individual sub albums to public or assign individual guest passwords to specific sub albums.



This is a quote from the FAQ section of Photobucket. It almost sounds like they can still buy your prints even when you are private???

My oldest DD has a Photobucket account.

The nice thing about Photobucket is they ask for DOB and because she is a minor her account was automatically set as "Private" by Photobucket.

Thanks for telling us those I never even thought to change mine I just did and I had over 183,000
veiws on mine!!

Where do you go to see your views?

I thought the number of views you had included the links you've used on forums, etc.

If that's the case, and you've posted a alot of pictures here, every time someone viewed your pictures on a thread here, you'd get a view count.

Just a thought.

Monthly hits

This is the total number of times someone has viewed your digital content through direct linking. If you have four images or videos linked from your Photobucket account to a webpage and one visitor views the page that is four 'Hits'. Four visitors to a webpage with only one image direct linked is also four 'Hits'. Viewing your images directly through your Photobucket account does not add to the 'Monthly Hits'.

Still made mine private, but it is an explanation of the high number of hits.

Mine is private but it says I get over 13000 hits a month?? Maybe it's counting when I look at my own photos? I wouldn't doubt that I am there that many times in a month. Or maybe that is people trying to look at my pictures?
