Are those ok to leave alone or do you need to remove them?

I have done both. Messed with one with Bumblefoot for a year and left one with it totally alone. I had a terrible time getting it to go away. The one I kept trying to heal, hers kept getting infected and she was in pain. Ultimately, she passed during surgery trying to remove it. The one I left alone, hers never got infected and she never seemed to be bothered with it. It finally went away on it's own. I'm sure there are things to try like: antibiotics, removing the sore (it's kind of like a plug) and keeping it clean until it heals. Your photo looks like Bumblefoot to me. Good luck with whatever course you take.

bumble foot is a staph infection. It is contegious and you can spread with your hands to yourself and other animals. If you choose to lance the site and try to remove the core (usually a puss filled plug) the foot will have to be bandaged and kept strictly clean for it to heal. Soaking the foot in epson salts, washing in iodine solution and keeping it bandaged and dry.

Thanks for all advice... just one more question, please. How do you bandage and keep a goose's foot dry? They are so messy and if it is contained, the mess will be worse. Wouldn't bandaging it make it worse if it was to get wet? Thanks

You will have to lock her up and keep her in your infirmary where you can keep her clean and dry and allow the foot to heal.
