Sonaja's eyes snapped open, wide and frightened after just awaking from a nightmare. Slowly she relaxed, letting the sounds of the forest sooth her. All was still around her , for she had always been an early riser. She got up walked into the cool morning forest, her small hooves making barely a sound. The forest was beautiful in the morning, the leaves covered in dew. The grass appeared to be light and fluffy in the strange but beautiful light of morning. Sonaja knew she would love Skyherd, love living among other horses . . . wild and free. She sighed, every other good thing in her life she had lost, her mother and brother, still at the farms of the terrible man. She sighed again and walked off into the forest.
