So far I have not been reported to the city inspector for having "livestock.". I rehomed 5 of my girls so that my chickens fall under the pet ordinances for Long Beach. I am hoping this works to keep the ones I Have. I am not sure where to start to change the ordinances but I am on a mission to petition the council to pass an ordinance that specifically allows up to 10 hens in residential zones. Right now I have been informed by the Alderman for my district, that 4 would be considered pets which would fall under animal control ordinances. Please keep fingers crossed!
