I have a white chicken with green feet. Several have posted she is an Easter Egger. Is this a term for any chicken that lays a blue or green egg or is it a specific breed or cross? If it is a cross, a cross of what?
Thanks for any help you can give this chicken novice :)

Easter egger is a generic name for any bird that carries the blue egg laying gene. It doesn't have to lay blue eggs, or have any specific color or lineage, it just has a colored egg, like mint green, blue, pink, tan, yellow, etc. Most EEs have some percentage of Ameraucana in them (green legs) but there are no hard and fast rules. It is a type rather than a breed. Clear as mud?

Many EEs also have puffy cheeks, which is also a characteristic of an Ameraucana. I know what you mean about this site, it is very useful - and addictive. Most all of the people here are more than willing to help with questions. Never hesitate to ask if you are uncertain.
