Her legs are still the same. I don't see any improvement at all.

I took her shoes off so her toes can get some sun and air. I think she can still feel when I pinch between her toes but they are like cooked spaghetti

I'm so sorry your little chicky isn't getting better. My pullet that had similar issues as your chick did improve enough to go outside with her flock, but she still has issues with the one leg. At this point, I don't think it will ever be 100%, but she can walk around, scratch, and get on her roost, so I thought she was better outside. I think she became so dehydrated that she had an electrolyte imbalance and damaged a nerve. My best guess since any other sickness would have killed her or healed by now. She is managing well with her flock, although whenever I'm outside she runs to me to pick her up, she thinks I'm her roo I think! I hope your little one shows some improvement, but I'm concerned after this long that there may be some permanent nerve damage.

Thank you Abserbean.
I am loosing hope too because it has been almost 4 weeks.
I dont mind caring for her but if this is going to be a permanent injury, her life is going to be miserable like this forever.

She is so alert and looking healthy if it wasnt for her feet.
Her sisters outside look much bigger though. But that is ok, she can be our rant as far as she walks again....

I know it's hard to remain positive, and there are no guarantees that she will recover. I've seen some cases of wryneck take months to recover. Give her plenty of ' sling time ' so that she has an opportunity to stretch her limbs and keep her on her vitamin tea and we will all keep our fingers crossed that she will make some small improvement soon. Chin up , your a good chicken momma. :hugs

I've been keeping up with this thread since it began. She does look better then she did before. You're doing a wonderful job of taking care of her. I love my birds but I don't know if I would have been able to do as much as you have. Don't give up hope. I do see improvement. I wish you the best of luck!

I hope my post didn't sound like I was saying to give up, I was just concerned for your little one! I think you are doing everything you can for your chick, and she does seem like her overall health is better. Hopefully she will turn a corner with the legs soon.

Saroni, keep up the good work. I can say that I would have given up on this chick a couple of weeks ago. She is SO lucky to have you!.......that being said, if/when her time has come ONLY you have the right to make that decision. You have a heart of gold!

Thank you everyone for the kind words and encouraging.
She needs to get better because she is a lucky chick to have all you caring.
And if she does we will name her Joy.
I hope she is a girl after all. Tomorrow she will be 13 weeks old
