sorry about the horrible spelling errors on some of the previous posts, i was typing rather franticly on my cellphone while attempting to tend to my distraught hen. we made it to an emergency vet around detroit (Novi) around 11pm (would have been sooner but ive got more than a few other pets i had to attend to). the vet and tech were both wonderful (other than the $250 price). they did knock off the cost of the egg extraction and placing her insides back into her, but i had to pay for the sunday night ER visit, sedation (torb/midazolam), stitches/rectum reduction, and some baytril and metacam drops/medication. they said that it was about as bad as it gets other than she some how managed to only have minor tearing. the stiches were to just hold everything back inside her until the swelling goes does. i'll probably have to remove the stiches myself in a week or so unless i can find a local vet that wont charge me a bunch more i figure theres way less than i had to take out of my dog after she was spayed, just in a more sensitive area.

now she is relaxing and sleeping in a smaller cage in a dim spare room inside. shes starting to eat, drink, and poop a bit more now so hopefully shes feeling a bi better. we were told to keep her in the dark for a few days except when medicating her 4 times a day to try to keep her from laying another egg while stiched and recovering, hopefully it works. we've got the windows covered and a dimmable light in the room to let her see better for a while to eat and drink after medicating and she doesnt fuss or really seem to mind.

Thanks for the update! Happy to hear you got her to the vet and that they were able to help!
