please help ASAP!! PROBLEMS PROBLEMS!

so i went into lockdown yesterday in one of my bators... i got the temp set at 102 for my still air which is what it has been on and i got m humidity up to 70% now comes the problem my bator jumped to 108 degreeds not really sure how long it was on there but i opened the lid to let some heat out after i messed with the knob to get it to turn down and it still did not move so i got that problem fixed and we are back to 102 however would that have killed my chicks????? then on to the humidity... i got it up to 70 but now it is down to 55 how do i get it back up???? what should i get it to? someone told me 80% but i just dont think that i can do that!

How long was the temp that high? It takes awhile for outside temps to change the inside temps of the eggs so there is hope. As for humidity, you will get a lot of different opinions. I've hatched out chicks at 35% humidity when I've missed taking them out on time to the hatcher. For me, the higher the humidity the more sticky my chicks come out. I get my best hatch rates around 55% at lockdown to leave room for it to go up when the chicks start to hatch. Are these chicken eggs or ducks? Ducks do need a high humidity. If you have duck eggs in there, put wet sponges in there.

My recommendation for your next hatch....get a fan. It REALLY helps.

What are you hatching? How many days are you into the hatch? I know for ducks the humidity is 55 for the first 25 then 65 for lockdown. I would add a sponge perhaps, but I would wait because I've only been doing this a few years and there are a lot more people that know more than I do. I was always told when the temp spikes leave them in they may be okay. Good luck!!!

Try to stabilise your temperature and keep it there. Like the other members say you can get hatches ok with a lower humidity. Temp spike may be ok and only time will tell but if was for a short duration then results should follow

Dont sacrifice a correct and stable temperature for the sake of a high humidity.

well i am hatchin chickens idk how long the temp was like that... as far as a fan i have one bator with the fan and its the only one that wont keep a stable temp...

but my other 4 have kept stable temps this one just jumped on me and i think i know why now.... so we will fix that problem :] thanks 4 the help
