We bought our Brinsea 10 Bator with Auto turn yesterday. We plugged it in last night and noticed that the air fluctuates form 96-104....(the outside air is a constant 70) is this normal?? We put water in the reservoirs and it seemed to help a little bit, (now fluctuating from 97-101). Is this Normal does it level out in a couple of days, or maybe once the eggs go in? I need to know because the eggs show up in a couple of days...!
Mine temp was rock solid within about 10-15 minutes of plugging it in and never varied the entire incubation period unless I opened it ... and the temp in my room does vary, sometimes quite a bit. That is why I got a Brinsea. It is very possible that yours has a problem. I would contact customer service ad discuss it with them.
Mine does, but not by whole degrees. The temperature of the room it's in varies from 74 - 78 degrees. I read that your room temperature is constant, but where is your incubator located? Location makes a huge difference. Makes sure it's out of direct sunlight, and away from an air conditioner. If location isn't a problem, then I'm not sure I can help you much more. ._.
Do you have the vent open? Maybe opening it more might help stabilize the temperature, since the room sounds very stable. If you don't see results soon, I recommend calling Brinsea. I hope things work out for you!
call Brinsea - it is NOT normal . Their customer service is most helpful !
I have a octagon 20 eco ( technically a lower line model) and the temperature stayed rock solid at 99.5 degrees ever since I plugged it in - I might have gotten fluctuations of about half a degree but nothing like you describe.
Quote: AMEN to that. We have the Brinsea 20 ECO and are on Day 16 with 16 bantam cochin frizzle eggs in it. My wife is a fresh air freak and no matter how many times I ask her to leave the windows be I find them open. Yet when I check the ECO the temp is right there at 99.7-100.00 degrees solid....
Call Brinsea ASAP, their reputation for service is quite high.
