Please help chicken attacked by hawk (?).

I'm glad you hen is doing better! How does the wound look? I would probably reapply some antibiotic cream. I also think it is good to offer her some high-protein treats while she is healing, but do make sure she has access to her regular food as well.

I'll only add that many, many people here do not have ready access to vets with avian knowledge. These forums are a wealth of knowledge from people with first-hand experience in treating poultry successfully by themselves, Obviously, if people have a local vet they trust, and can afford such a vet, then working with a vet is great. But, you should not feel guilty if that is not a realistic option.

Came home to find our chickens scatter everywhere. This one was on the ground hurt. We picked up and brought her inside. Looked like what went after her she fought off. She is in a warm office with blanket over cage. No signs of breathing problems, alert. Wound are surface wound at lest what we have seen. We have not attempted clean yet as not sure how to proceed.

1 how do i clean the wounded area can i use hydrogen peroxide
2 how so i get her to drink water
3 can i use antibiotic ointment on the area
4 any other advice

Mom wants to avoid vet is possible.
Hi, clean the wound, you can use antibiotic cream. Look for puncture wounds under the wings, abdomen....
Chickens heal amazingly fast, keeping her separated is fine but when she's ready to go back, she will have to be reintroduced slowly. Chickens forget very quickly and will attack her.
Water is very important so she doesn't become dehydrated. Food and treats as she wants....
Her feathers will grow back with the next molt. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your imput let me see if I can answer all the qurstions. Her skin look good dark color but ot red and inflamed. The area where the hawk grabbed her left 1 puncture wound, and where her tail feathers got all pulled out is red and inflamed. Other then those areas het skin looks good. We are bathing her in Hebiclens, applying wound spray and thriple antibiotic ointment 2 times a day..
Today she ate a tuna egg and feed mixed with save a chick. We are also giving asprin water for pain. She ate and drank out of my hand several times today but also on her own.
We have save a chick in her water.
She is a little spunky today pe ked at us while tending her wounds and vocalized her dislike of being handled.
She is still in my office in a creat. Will post more tomorrow. Thank you all again for your help and understanding.

Day 4, hen is eating and drinking pretty much on her own. Moved her outside to the our smaller coop on the back porch. She walked around, ate some greens invested the coop got up on the roost. She prefers to sleep in the crate/rest.I think she is gonna be fine. UPDATE We now think it might of be the neighbors small laso apso dog that attacked her as it showed up this morning nosing around the chicken houses. Thank you everybody for your help.

Update: our hen has graduated to a small coop outside by the hen house. She is already growing pin feathers on one side. Most of her scabs have fallen off. She still has one place that is needing attention daily. Over all I am very impressed with her recovery. As soon as we put her in the small coop the roaster started talking to her and she answered back. We are planning to expand a run area around the coop to enclose the smaller coop. That way we have a "get acquainted/ emergency separation area for future issues. I ordered her a hen saddle which she fussed at us about. Thank you all for your help. I am tring to post photos but it is not letting me.
