Thanks again for all the replies. I've been keeping vigil on them and they seem to be doing fine at this time although the pullets are still huddled together a bit (its plenty warm at about 80 degrees). They are all sleeping peacefully. Will bed them with the pine shavings tomorrow but I can't get around housing the birds in the lower level of a barn filled with the old hay and straw. There's just too much there to remove in the short amount of time I have before I need to remove them from the brooder so they have more room. They will be separate from all the hay/straw but will be directly below several tons of it. I have constructed a hardware cloth/welded wire and solid wall coop that is backed up by electric fence so they should be safe.
