Please Help Chirpy!

For the past few weeks, my pet sebright bantam has had a strange condition: she has lost a lot of feathers around her neck, near her crop! She does not have lice or mites (I almost said mice and lites Haha). The condition doesn't seem to be life-threatening, but it has gotten progressively worse. She is almost bald in certain placess. I know that she is not broody; and she isn't even laying, and is only about 7 months old. I don't think she's molting, either, because she is only losing feathers around the crop and neck!

Please help me! This is my 6 year old brother's pet sebright, which he raised very carefully into a very sweet and loving pet bantam! He will be heart-broken if he loses her! Please help Chirpy!

I will try to get some pictures, but my camera has a really dead battery, and the charger is missing. Once again, Chirpy is losing feathers around her neck and crop; she does not have mites or lice, she does not seem to be molting, and she is not broody. Will get some pics, soon. She may be picking at herself or someone else is over grooming her. Give her something to pick at like a bird seed bell, cabbage etc. up her protein level a little bit to see if the problems stops. Perhaps give her more space and more things to do to prevent boredom.

She is a free-ranging bantam, so she has plenty to do. I am really just worried that this could be fatal... my little brother already lost his other pet chicken, so I really am concerened. She might be over grooming or picking, but I am not certain. We have 25+ chickens, bantams and standards, and they all free-range over 4 1/2 acres, so they have plenty of room. I hope she'll be alright...

Does scratch feed have protein in it? Our chickens have been getting a lot of layer ration and barely any scratch feed. Should they be getting more scratch than layer ration? We have 2 bags of layer ration and 1 bag of fancy scratch feed poured together in a large rainwater barrel... Is this a good mix? Should we have the feed seperated in different containers?
