Stephanie - Thank you for the photos, the splash cochin is similar to Fatso. Fatso's legs are not as fluffy, more tufty down the outside, and Fatso's tail is more bushy and upright (looks like it's about to be blown inside out!) He/she is about 7 months so maybe more feathering to come? Our other cockerel had a beautiful cascading tail and was far more hyper-active and noisey than this one. Do cockerels usually making a barking noise like this one does? I have heard of some hens crowing to take the role of the cockerel but Fatso crowed a couple of times when our other cockerel was with us. Since he left Fatso's only crowed twice in 6 days.

Finally, hope this has worked! Fatso photos! Arthur or Martha? And does anybody have any ideas as to breed? You can just see the feathery tufts on the outside of the legs. And the nicely(!) rounded body! No crowing today or assaulting of the others!

Hard to tell if it is male or female with wet feathers! It almost looks like a splash orpington (though it has feathered feet), or marans...though it's body seems a bit stocky for a marans...

Hi Kari_Dawn Fatso's feathers weren't wet! They always look like that! The feet are a bit muddy!
