Well I sure hope she will lay one. Give all of us peace of mind.So she has been trying to lay all day but the others are laying as well and she will not go into the nest box. All she is doing is sitting outside doing her I want to lay my egg crying! Do you think she will lay?
I will keep it up. Thank you for all your help!Well I sure hope she will lay one. Give all of us peace of mind.
Keep up the calcium. My Petunia is still having egg issues, this time I can feel a huge egg in her just by palpating her abdomen externally. I gave her some calcium tonight and will likley give her some every night for the next week.
She will likley lay that egg tonight on the roosting ledge.
So glad she is doing better. As others have said, just because you can’t feel an egg doesn’t mean there isn’t one there.
When my Eli was egg bound (massive egg not soft shelled egg) she went around for two days straining and pushing to get it out. She did not go in the nest box at all. Then suddenly she got it out shortly followed by the next day’s egg that had got stuck behind it.
@azygous is the real expert in this and hope she will weigh in. But what I have understood her to say is keep giving her oral calcium pills until she gets that egg out. Calcium is needed for the muscle contractions necessary to expel the egg.
Hoping she does OK.

So sorry! Did not see any of this till right now!!!!Try installing her in a pet crate on a couple layers of old towels. Dampen the top towel a little bit, then slip a heating pad on a low setting under the top layer of material. This will generate moist heat which will help. Place the crate in a cool, quiet, dimly lit place.
Be sure to supply plenty of water so she doesn't get dehydrated. If she has not been drinking enough water, she may already be dehydrated, and it's adding to her woes. You might need to tube water into her if you are okay with doing that. If not, syringe the water into her like this. Add a little sugar to it to elevate her glucose.
