Please Help - Day 3 after attack ~ Roo has open wound we just found :(

We have 2 kids too (5 and 7) .. they love our chickens (actually the chicks were the idea of th 7 year old!) but I guess it has been a life lesson... a hard one but a lesson... Our coop was not breeched was the hard thing. The birds had just chose to sleep against the wire! Don't ask me why! They were clawed through the mesh best we can tell! If the coop had been breeched I know the loss would have been much greater

We are working hard to remedy the sleeping issue and encourage them to stay in the interior coop at night... who knows if this shall work...

Its heartbraking for them but as you say its a part of life and would be the same with any pet at one time or another.

12 days after the attack and both are still getting better~ I'm more and more optimistic!!! Thanks again to all that helped!

That's wonderful to hear, there lucky to have you, sounds like you've taken great care to nurse them back to health.
