Can someone please help? My quackmyer is 4 weeks old and has a bad leg I took quackmyer to the only vet I could find in my area that would even look at ducks on 4/13 to have his leg looked at, they did X-rays and said they didn’t see a slipped tendon or a break can him some antibiotics for 5 days but his leg seems to be getting worse we’re he can not hardly walk at all and needs to be somthing he can lean on to even try and stand does any one know anything I can do to help him? I have been giving him vitamin b complex from tractor supply also. I can give more pictures or video if it would help

Welcome to BYC.
How long have his legs been bad?
How long have you been treating him with B Complex?
At what dose?
I noticed it turning some on 4/6 and I found from on a post here about the b complex on the 4/10 and gave 1ml a day until I took him to the vet I found on 4/13 and they told me to stop giving it and gave me a antibiotic that they said give for 5 days. When I called them and told them he wasn’t doing any better they s said there wasn’t anything they could do but now it’s getting worse because he can’t walk hardly at all or stand. I stared giving the b complex back to him two days ago

Is that a Pekin duckling? If so your problem is probably that they arnt getting enough niacin. Even if your feeding duckling feed, a flaw of breeding the Pekin ducks for meat was that they usually require more niacin. So it’s common that their legs don’t develop right and do that.

edit: it’s probably to a point that it may not be reversed, but feeding a niacin supplement should prevent further warping.

Yes it is a pekin duck, I have started back giving 1ml of b complex from tcs. Would that be enough to help?

What’s the amount of niacin in their feed and the amount per ml of the complex? I have some of a different brand and it doesn’t have niacin in it. (Niacin is different than niacinamide)

When I first got him/her tcs told me to feed them chick starter so for the first week or two they had that then when noticed the leg I found this site and that’s when started the vitamins and changed there food to the duck pellets
