Please HELP! Eggs Pipped but Not Hatching!!!

I have some pipping at the underside touching the bottom of the incubator...is that okay? They're all pipping on all different sides of the eggs! Lol

He's moving still!
Yes that's fine, do not turn them! It disorients them. They know what they are doing. I think you should candle a few very carefully and quickly and see if you can see and veins in the small end of the egg. If they have been pipped for 48 hours they most likely are shrink wrapped. Did you read Sally Sunshine's article I posted on the other page? I think you will have to assist these. 2 days is a long time IMO.

Okay, I was afraid if I did the water I would add too much so I didn't do it. I chickened out. (Which, to me would be a GREAT pun... But these are quail so this is serious!😂)
Lol yes it's ok. You can use a bit of oil too. Can you take a few candling pics while you candle? Have some help. If you do not see any veins I would start assisting. Continue the pip uo into the air cell and see what you can see. Pics help.

Thank you for the advice. I did read her post since you told me! 🙂 I believe I may have seen it in the past and forgotten about it! I really appreciate it! 👍Well I was afraid I'd mess up everyone else trying to save one or two, 😯 so I left it be...(which was extremely hard for me)

Finally, after two whole days...

Happy to see they are hatching.....it typically takes up to 24 hours from pip to zip, but sometimes there are slowpokes. one in the pictures looks to have pipped toward the small end of the egg. I actually opened a couple of mine last night. one was fully formed but quit after pip due to malposition in the egg. 2nd was same situation but still a little goopy. Have you salt tested your hygrometer for accuracy? 75% seems a bit on the high side IMO and definitely shouldn’t have dry membranes and shrink wrapping at that humidity. Are your thermometers calibrated for accuracy?? Have you checked for cool spots in the incubator?? I’m currently using my j12 incubator and it has cool spots. My hatches start on day 16 or 17 and sometimes I still get hatches on day 20/21 for that reason. There is a good article here on humidity and salt testing as well as some on temp calibration. Malpositioning is something that cannot be controlled and drives me crazy because there is a sensitive window of when assistance can save a chick and it’s not always successful. Good luck with your hatch!!

I would also dab a gloved finger in clean water and just touch the pip to transfer a tiny drop of water to keep the membrane hydrated enough to avoid getting too tough for them to break or shrinking too tight on the bird. Just a very little drop
Don't use water, it'll just dry back out fast.
Use coconut oil.

Awesome to see a trooper made it out!
Hopefully the others have rallied and made an appearance. Every time I use an incubator I end up assisting at least one hatch. I'm not a fan of them...at least not my cheap chineezium brand. It's all alarms and sleepless nights.

What incubator do you have? Just curious.
