Oh , so sorry kitty. Sometimes these things are beyond our control.

Thank you both for your condolences. She really lived a great life and was going on nine years. However, like I always like to bring up, my chicken going on eleven is as healthy as can be! She just has some great genes. And you're right, that's nothing I can control and I did everything for her - metacam every twelve hours for two months and antibiotics for almost 20 days and silvadine cream on her wound which healed very nicely!

Sounds like you have a retirement village for chooks. Something you are doing must be right to be having them so long lived.
