Brigid,the survivor chick

Good morning everyone;

That is happy news about Brigid starting to heal and recover already. The picture is awesome. She is a happy girl and she obviously found a wonderful home. That is a good idea about a thread just for Brigid.

I am just sitting down to breakfast. Got the men off to work, fed the chickens, walked the dogs, cleaned the cat boxes, and now it is time to sit down for a moment and plan the day. It is Daylight Savings Time here in the mountain time zone, so it is now 8:22 a.m. What time is it at your house?

I didn't intend to have ANY cats. The first one was a stray who ran in my backdoor years ago when I lived in a suburb. Now we live in the country. The second one hid under a truck for days and was crying for help at coyote o'clock. I thought she would be my barn cat but she thought differently. She came in the front door when I was bringing in the groceries one day. She had a single kitten two months later. So now I have 3 cats. I am totally at indoor cat capacity. There isn't a single mouse in the house, though. That's a good thing and hard to do when you live out in the country. So the kitties are doing a good job for me.

We had a huge male cat,he was neutered though but he was murdered by a racoon .I got a Russian blue kitten for my 13th birthday and she is definitely the sweetest cat

The first cat is also a very soft, grey cat. Her eyes are yellow though, not blue. So I don't think she is a Russian Blue. I think she might be a Korat cat. We named her Kiri. When she first came in the house she had a bit of a hard time getting used to being an indoor cat instead of an outdoor cat. So she used to sing a lot, hoping we would let her out. So we named her after Kiri Te Kanawa, a very beautiful opera singer from New Zealand. We don't have raccoons here (so sad about your male cat) but we do have lots of coyotes, foxes and wolves. It is safer for kitties to stay inside here.
