So, I'm the only one home right now and one of my hens has a serious cut on her foot. It's like 1 cm. long and it's deep. I have washed the cut out with water and put a band aid on it. She is currently separated from the others right now...in my bathroom. What should I do??? Should I put something different on it? Is there a cream or some type of medicine for it? I don't know what to do!

****UPDATE****

I called my mom (she's a doctor) and I put some triple antibiotic ointment on it because I was worried it may have turned into a staph infection. She's just chilling in the air conditioned bathroom.

BUT...the bathroom is only a temporary holding spot for her. Any where else that would be safe? I can't do it in my garage because my cat sleeps in there

. Plz Help!

Do you have one of those plastic storage containers (like 24 inches high, 24 long, 18 wide - or something similar)?? I put my girls in one of those when they're sick or injured, then I put a towel or small blanket over the top and secure it to the top with clothes pins. Sometimes I'll set that in the bathtub.. other times I'll put it in a room that is not frequently occupied! If you have a pet carrier for your cat - that will work too!
