Dear all,

I bought 8 young quails today. They were bought to a simple guy who has them in his backyard. He doesn't claim to be an expert and could not provide me a lot of info. The only thing he could advance is that these are most likely native european (note: we are in Europe) with possibly some wild traits and there could be some cross breeding in their history - he doesn't know for sure.

All I know is that half look dark with brown tones and the other half look dark gray (with no color tone). Are these 2 different mutations between the dark browns and grays?

What do you call these if 2 separate breeds/mutation/whatever?

thanks. So its just a color mutation of the same thing?

Congrats! You’re now the proud owner of Coturnix quail. Raising them becomes an obsession, fair warning!
