Hmmmm is super curios and i know you cant find out for sure but do you think it looks more like a male

or female

??? I will definitely keep you posted the thing is that the mom had other ducklings that look like normal black Swedish ducklings?!?!?! I'm so confused.....

I honestly always look at baby ducks and think they look like little boys. I don't know why.

It might still be young enough to where you can vent sex the little guy, but I recommend you have somebody show you how to do that before you try. Otherwise, you just have to wait until it starts giving you some adult vocalizations...Later down the line, also, you'll start seeing, on a male, "drake feathers," which are curly little butt feathers.

As for the other ducklings, three things could be going on here. 1. Mutts of any animals tend to be even more inconsistent in morphology. Sometimes you get animals that look more like mom, sometimes you get animals that look more like dad. Sometimes you just get weird stuff. That's why, in mix-breeds, you don't have a homogenous population that conform to a "type." For instance, in labradoodles, even if puppies have the same mom and dad, they can look very different from one another. 2. The clutch has different sires. Domestic ducks (and even wild ducks really) aren't monogamous. 3. She adopoted/stole the duckling from another hen, or another hen laid the egg in her nest. Very common in waterfowl to make somebody else take care of your genetic offspring, lol.

I'm curious about this little guy, who knows what he's going to look like!
