Please Help! I'm so out of my element.

With the weather turning I'd net them as well. Its going to be stressful and scary for them but in the long run it will be the best. They are going to fall victim to a predator if you don't get them penned up in this weather.

Thank you everyone.I'll keep you all posted, I'm sure I'll have many more questions

Ok Backyard friends, I've heard from a few people that their ducks like peas and such. I'm trying to find something that they will go nuts over to lure them into their coop at night. They are more skittish some nights than they are others. I just can't get a read on them.I swear the leader of the bunch is just too "chicken" to be leader. He tells them to run away for no reason. I tried peas and not even one of them ate them. In the past they have eaten red grapes cantaloupe, watermelon, bananas and tomatoes. They have never eaten any lettuce either. I bought new feed and they hate that too. They used to eat cracked corn everyday and they stopped that too. Please post lists of food that you've had luck with. Thank you so much.

Dried mealworms, a mix of chopped greens and dry oatmeal or a can of regular corn.

The only thing that worked with my ducks was a long piece of a 1x1. My husband opened door to the duck yard and I went around behind them holding out the stick herding them in. I didn't even have to get close enough to touch them. After about 3 times of this they just knew what I wanted and went right in. Slow, calm and steady is the key. Don't startle them or you'll get nowhere. Mine wouldn't follow meal worms or peas into the cage.
